About Ellsworth
Mahoning County, Ohio
Ellsworth Township was established in 1810 in central Mahoning County, and about 2,100 people lived there at the 2020 census. There are no incorporated towns inside it, but the unincorporated community of Ellsworth sits at its center. The township borders Jackson Township to the north, Canfield Township to the east, and Berlin Township to the west. It’s about 12 miles southeast of Newton Falls as the crow flies.
Ellsworth is home to Mill Creek MetroParks’ Vickers Nature Preserve on Route 224 (Akron-Canfield Road). The preserve is open sunrise to sunset and has hiking trails, fishing, and the Buckeye Horse Park for trail riders. Leashed dogs are welcome on MetroParks trails as long as owners pick up after them.
